BRAEVIEW Mount Beauty – First in Australia to be awarded Green STARS certification for environmental practices under AAA Tourism’s new environmentally friendly accommodation classification scheme.

By achieving this endorsement Braeview has taken steps towards reducing the environmental impact the business has on its environment. The three key areas addressed by Braeview in obtaining this endorsement were energy efficiency, waste minimisation and water management.

Tourism relies heavily on the environment and everyone needs to look to the future and do all they can to save our precious resources said Isla.

Braeview has been conserving water with the installation of water efficient showerheads for three years; our latest initiative is the installation of a water tank to collect the rainwater from the gutters. Braeview was also the first small business in the Alpine Shire to become an Accredited Waste Wise business two years ago. To achieve the Green STARS endorsement the last initiative was installing energy efficient light globes said Isla.
